Our design service offers everything from an individually tailored design service through to predesigned timber-framed houses or even a combination of the two (adapting an existing design to your requirements).

We can start from a "back of an envelope" sketch, more artistic drawings or even a verbal description for your needs and ideas.

House Types

Our large catalogue of house designs are also there to help - we work with a number of reputable companies and can show prospective builders a wide range of imaginatively predesigned house types.

Whether you are looking for a basic design or a very high specification home, we may have exactly what you are looking for on file. If not, we can often modify a standard house design to exactly match your requirements.

Building

Once you have decided on a design you like, Orkney Builders will build it for you to the highest standards.

We are registered and recognised, for your peace of mind, by Scottish Building and the NHBC. We also have such a proven track record that we were automatically given status as a CLE (Construction Licensing Executive) contractor. We are the only contractor in Orkney to have this status. Orkney Builders takes a pride in a reputation for quality and efficiency.

Once a build is ready to start we aim to complete the work in around 12-15 weeks - no "disappearing acts" or excuses.

We will give you an honest appraisal of the time needed, flag up and manage any unexpected hitches and keep you informed.
